Alize Sotelo – Director and Animator

Alize Sotelo Gutiérrez is a Basque filmmaker, animator and curator working between London and Navarre. She graduated with honours in Animation from the University of the Arts London and holds a postgraduate certificate in Screenwriting from Birkbeck, University of London. She received the Ágorart Scholarship from the Government of Navarre in 2020.

She currently teaches at UAL and curates exhibitions at the London College of Communication.
Her short film Chopping Wood Chips screened at over 40 international festivals. Her current project, the animated short Ortzimugan, is in pre-production and was presented at the Festival International d’Animation d’Annecy in June 2026.

Susana Gutiérrez – Director, Actress and Producer

Susana Gutiérrez González is an actress, theatre director and performing arts educator with over two decades of professional experience. She holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and trained in performing arts at the Escuela Navarra de Teatro. She co-founded Hoidek Producciones in 2002 and has led its artistic direction and production since then.

She has directed and produced all of Hoidek’s theatre productions and has led theatre workshops for children, young people and adults at schools and cultural centres across Navarre, reaching more than a hundred participants each year. She is currently a secondary school teacher of Spanish Language and Literature under the Government of Navarre.

Enara Sotelo – Choreographer and Dancer

Enara Sotelo Gutiérrez is a dancer trained in classical and contemporary dance, Spanish dance — including flamenco, bolero and stylized forms — and traditional Basque folk dance (euskal dantzak). She studied for over a decade at the Public School of Dance of the Government of Navarre and also trained at L’École de Ballet – Studios de Biarritz, the Almudena Lobón School of Dance, the Marta Espuelas School of Dance and the Royal Professional School of Dance Mariemma.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Choreography and Interpretation at the Institut del Teatre (2025–2029). Her involvement in theatre and performance began at the age of four.

Carlos Sotelo – Screenwriter and Producer

Carlos Sotelo Enríquez is a screenwriter, marketing and communication consultant, and Lecturer in Corporate Communication. Born in San Sebastián, he holds a degree in Journalism and a postgraduate studies and a doctorate in Public Communication from the University of Navarra. He is the author of the texts for all of Hoidek’s theatrical productions and co-wrote the screenplay for the animated short Ortzimugan with Alize Sotelo.
